How to Throw the Ultimate Oscars Party!

Here at Shed HQ we are all super excited about the Oscars on February 26th. But what is the best way to celebrate The Oscars in style? By throwing a party of course !!

There are so many great ways to throw the most fabulous Oscars party. We think these things will ensure that your party will win in most categories.

Invite people - lots of people

Pretty self-explanatory, but in order to have a party you kind of need an abundance of guests. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with people that you only see through Facebook and Instagram posts. And what better way to connect with them than over our universal love of movies.

There are literally hundreds of design templates online to create the perfect invitation for your soiree. Here is a sample to give you some truly awesome ideas.

Roll out the red carpet

To mark the occasion in style why not roll out your own red carpet and make your guests feel like A-list stars.

Imagine your guests surprise when they see a red carpet leading them into your home to start the night’s fun - what could be more perfect. And if a red “carpet” is out of the question, given your guests a red velvet shoe in-sole, so every step they take is “Hollywood”!

Make the occasion special with fancy dress

Since it's an Oscar party why not tell your guests to dress like the stars of the past? Take inspiration from iconic Oscar-winning films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Titanic, Forrest Gump - or even Silence of the Lambs.

Imagine one of your guests dressing up as Hannibal Lector, equipped with the iconic mask and straitjacket and don’t forget a nice Chinati. Or if someone wants to be more current, how about Michael Keaton’s brilliant  Birdman costume? 

Oscar-themed games to get people in the spirit

As well as having the Oscars on in the background (obviously) why not make your night even more entertaining by having games for your guests to play? Have a ballot for each guest and the person who guesses the most awards correctly wins a prize.

You could even play an Oscar-themed bingo and provide guests with clipboards and pens to fill in their cards - so that you can all watch out for the various goings on throughout the award show.

Last but not least … get the popcorn ready

Nothing says an Oscar party like popcorn - lots and lots of popcorn. So make sure that you have enough. If you are catering for a big crowd ensure that you have plenty of flavours to suit everyone’s tastes.
